East Olympia FD #6 Peer Support

Austin orwig (EO coordinator) (360)789-7364

I live in Thurston County with my wife Kendra and my black lab Koda. While not at work I enjoy playing basketball, hiking with my dog, and spending time with my family and friends. I am currently learning how to garden and woodwork as a pastime. I also spend my time as the Secretary of a non-profit named Vigiles Urbani and assist the other E-board members with public announcement and coordination of events. I strive to be the type of person that is approachable, hardworking, diligent, compassionate, and open-minded. All of those traits follow me on and off shift. Using these traits to assist others in the fire service and first responder service no matter the reason is one of my passions, and I am excited to put forth these in a peer support role.

Nathan Saline (360)701-0629

Nathan has been a career Firefighter/EMT with East Olympia Fire District 6 since February 2021.  Prior to being hired full-time, he served as an EOFD volunteer for about a year and a half.  Before his career in the fire service, Nathan worked for the Port of Olympia for 13 years specializing in operations management, hazardous waste and safety programs, and heavy equipment maintenance. When Nathan isn’t on shift, he enjoys being with his family, exercising, reading, playing and listening to music, and spending time outdoors trail running, cycling, and hiking/backpacking.

Spencer Pierce (360) 791-5796

I was hired with East Olympia in 2022 and have been working in Thurston County since 2016 with previous experience with AMR and volunteering. I was born and raised in Olympia and have always loved the PNW. I love the outdoors and have grown to love my job and all the things we are able to do. I also understand the stresses of this job and am proud to be able to help in any way I can. I believe we can create a healthy community by being there for each other, no matter where you are from. I’m available to listen and talk anytime.
